XIII. Ugh

Captain’s Log: Thursday, 27 July

Distance: Ferrara – Bologna, 68km

(I’m excusing already for the lack of images, but the landscapes haven’t been quite exciting today. But once we reach the hills theee will be more to see again)

We left the Camping ground quite early, since we both wanted to prove each other that we are indeed able to get up early. And with early I mean leaving there around 8am. But about half an hour later we stopped again at a supermarker for water, and there happened to be a Café right beside it, so we happened to sit down there for a coffee and a Hot Chocolate.

The rest of the journey has been a bit exhausting. There haven’t been many bicycle ways, so we had to drive on the road quite often (yes, we take care, don’t you worry), but it should get better tomorrow. We’ll look up the more rural roads then.

And if we haven’t seen already enough cars for today, we had to drive into Bologna as well. It was like an overflow of cars, busses, Motor rollers, Mopeds and people, and not all of them followed the basic street rules. We were sligthly overstrained, well, at least I was. But the best thing was that the hostel we looked up before getting in has been fully booked already, so we had to look for another one.

After a short break, in which we called two other ones, we found one for which we had to drive through the whole inner city again. But I have to say, once we reached it, it was worth it.

They had a nice reception, a locked room for the bikes and a common kitchen! It reminded and still reminds me of my time in New Zealand.

Of course we used the facilities to get something warm to eat for today. The only disadvantage it has, are the comfty beds of which it will be way harder to get out that early than the tent.

Hahaha!
