XXXI. Even more chilling

Captain’s Log: Monday, 14 August

Distance: At least to the supermarket and back again

Yeh, even though knowing that I am going to have a very lazy week anyway, I decided to be lazy today as well. So I basically read the whole day. I have started a book series, The Wheel of Time, which has far too much books, so I have a lot of stuff to read. I just changed my position from in the tent under a tree in the shadows, since it got quite hot today again. 

In the afternoon I decided to go for a walk, I mean, no movement at all is not good either, so I went down to the little Amphitheatre and to the supermarket.

I’m actually not sure if I was supposed to pay for the entrance, since I saw a sign saying “Ticket office” afterwards, but it was possible to just walk in, and nobody held me back, so I just walked in and out again just like that.

Back to the camping ground I sat down outside to eat something, when one of the toms came to me again, trying to get something from my food. 

It was quite funny to watch him, he was shy enough so that I was not able to pet him, but hungry enough to come so close that I could have touched him if I wanted. But I would have risked getting scratched, since he really did not want to get touched, so I did not do it. I tried to give him a piece of cheese for him to eat it out of my hand, but he sort of punched it out of my hand with his paw and ate it from the ground then. He did not seem very trusting, even though I did not try to touch him. Maybe I am able to gain his trust tomorrow, when I buy a small package of dry food for cats to feed him, since cheese is not really healthy for them. And yes, I miss my cats at home, if you did not notice that by your own already.

In the evening, the two British guys arrived again, and since I was sitting outside of my tent again, we came into talking again. I managed to arrange that I could join them tomorrow on their trip to Pompeii and to Vesuvius, so I should get out of the camping ground at last for the day.
