Accommodation: Airbnb in Hamburg

Sightseeing Day: Hamburg

Weather: Rain and sun

Today as you might have already guessed, we took a look around the city of Hamburg. We got a hint that if we would sit down in the U3, which is also called Hochbahn, we would drive a circle and would be able to see a lot of Hamburg. Since we were up quite early and we had enough time (and no idea of what else we could do anyway), we did that, and it was surprisingly nice. We even got out a couple of times because the area looked so beautiful. I especially liked the fact that there are random small rivers everywhere.

Later, we had lunch in a small vegan café, which was quite interesting as well. They even had Hot Chocolate made with oat milk, which tasted strange, but not even too bad.

During our stay there it started to rain, so we waited for it to stop again, before we returned to our accommodation to grab our rain coats. We had planned to go on a boat ride in the harbour, and it still looked like it would rain from time to time.

I was kinda thrilled to see that there is an Escape Room on a big boat? At that was not even the only ship that offered that. I think, one day I need to do something like that. They even had a small climbing station between the masts.

While waiting for a boat to take us with it, we watched the other ships passing by, and this one eventually caught my eye. It had these giant water wheels on the back which it actually used as power unit. I mean, I think for turning left or right it still had other, more precise devices, but for driving straight ahead or for breaking, they used them.

We then got on a boat of the line 62, which we took all the way to the other endstation, where we wandered around a bit. But it looked like rain again at some point, so we returned to the boat later.

Once again at the Landungsbrücken, we wanted to take a look at the Elbphilharmonie, a big building with a very long moving stairway. It got a bit cold already now.

We were also able to see the rain a bit further away from the platform at the Elbphilharmonie.

We ended the day eventually with having something to eat at the side of this lake, in the company of a lot of seagulls, but also two geese and a couple of swans, of which two where still very young ones with gray feathers.
