XIV. Excursion to Mo

Captain’s Log: Thursday, 23 August 2018

Accommodation: Airbnb in Bergen

Sightseeing Day: Fjords and Mo

Weather: Cloudy

Today we decided to follow the advice of the tourist information guy we met at the first day here in Bergen, and made a trip to the small village of Mo, about two hours bus drive North of Bergen. For that, we had to leave a little bit earlier, but we were lucky, there was no rain today, even though there was no sun either.

First we had to take the bus to Bergen, then to Dale, and then to Mo, and I think, that was the most interesting bus drive I ever had. The landscape was of course beautiful, we drove alongside a fjord or lake, surrounded with mountains covered in woods and moss, and the cloudy and misty weather was just perfect for that.

Unfortunately it was sort of difficult to take pictures out of the bus.

In the bus from Dale to Mo, we were the only people, except for the driver of course. The streets and small tunnels were so narrow that it was almost scary to sit in that bus.

Especially if there was a car coming towards us. There were not many cars anyway, but we almost crashed into one because both bus and car wanted to move aside, but both moved to the same side.

A little bit later we had to change into a smaller bus, which then took us to Mo. But the trip was already worth it, the street to Mo alone was already awesome, but Mo was very beautiful itself as well. And it was so calm. We did not meet many people there, and it seemed so laid back and just nice.

We then had a short lunch break at the lake, and Galileo was allowed to have an Oreo.

Afterwards, we walked around in the village and continued walking alongside the street and the lake.

We even found another waterfall close by where we climbed around a bit to get closer. And yes, we did take care, and no, nothing did happen.

The view on the waterfall was worth it, it looked so amazing!

Unfortunately we had to head back to the village again, since the busses did not drive very often and we did not want to get stuck there. Well, we kind of did want it, because we did not want to leave, but reason won over once again.

We waited on the bus at the lake again.

The bus we actually planned to take did not come, but another came, and when we asked the driver, he told us, he could take us to another city, where another bus leaves to Knarvik, which then eventually can take us back to Bergen again. Since we would have needed to wait for the other bus for like an hour, we decided to trust that driver and went with him.

The whole route we took back was not that beautiful as the route on our way to Mo, but we were both tired already anyway.
