Captain’s Log: Wednesday, 19 June 2019
Distance: Bourg-Saint-Andéol (19:00) – Avignon (16:30), 80km
Accommodation: Camping du Pont d’Avignon
Weather: Sun and a few clouds
Today’s note to myself: Just keep swimming, aah, cycling!
I am not going to write much today, since I am already very tired.
The way today, despite being the Via Rhôna, did not follow the river. In fact, I only saw the Rhône when I was crossing it in the beginning of the day, and when I crossed it again in the end of the day in Avignon.

The route led through plantages and grape fields, in very snake-like lines and not in a straight one, which is also why it took me the whole day to finally get to Avignon.

At some point the signs of the Via Rhôna sort of led me in a circle around a city, where I decided that it was enough. Instead the signs I followed the main road because at least this one led south in a more or less straight line.
But at last I finally arrived in Avignon.

I’m still good, by the way, and I am looking forward to finally see the coast.
