Nice day today. Hardly anything to complain about. By the way, I forgot to post a travel song, so I’m going to do that now. Even though I wouldn’t consider it as a travel song, I had an earworm the whole time of this one already: https://youtu.be/QZpGe5rNJkI

Today’s travel data:

Date: Saturday, 16 July

Way: Altmünster – Bad Ischl

Distance: 31km

Time: 15:30 – 17:15

Weather: cloudy with some sunshine (it’s getting better)

Since I didn’t plan to drive far this day, I got up a bit later than usual. I felt so comfortable at the place I was staying, that I left in the afternoon. So I had enough time for breakfast, wakling through Gmunden and Lunch. Then I got on the Salzkammergut-Radweg.

I have to admit, Gmunden and the Traunsee was quite impressive. The bicycle route went along the lakefront, and I almost always had the view over he lake and the hills, covered in woods, on the other shore. With the few sunrays sometimes it looked really amazing. Reminded me a bit of Milford Sound, in the south of New Zealand.

However, I have reached Bad Ischl quite fast, after a short cursing section. You remember the rise of the street you don’t see, but feel? It was like this almost the whole way. But, fortunately not far, and the scenery was too beautiful to complain about that.

After reaching Bad Ischl, I sat down on a bench close to the road, where I was waiting for my Couchsurfing host. Beside having enough time for catching up writing my blog, I was able to watch the people passing by. It’s funny to watch their faces while they are staring at my fully packed bike. But they all smile friendly when I’m looking at them.

The rest of the evening I spent with driving around in Bad Ischl very slow and catching Pokémon while waiting for Nici. Noo, I’m not addicted at all. And beside, it’s better than sitting on a bench the whole time, right?

Things I have learned from today? Not much actually. Except maybe that I shouldn’t play Pokémon Go all the time while being in a city. But at least you get into conversations with it. An elderly guy asked me, if I’m playing this new game, because I looked exactly like a couple of other guys, who played it as well, like, looking at the phone, looking around, standing around, catching Pokémon… I would consider it as a character development of mine that it doesn’t bother me anymore if people call me strange or something. I’ll see if that’s good or bad.
