Captain’s Log: Friday, 18 August<\/p>\n

Distance: Around 12km in Muinch by bicycle, Roma (since yesterday over night) – Muinch – Klagenfurt – Zell Pfarre, by bus, train, and (hopefully) car<\/p>\n

After arriving in Muinch with the night bus around 10am, I decided, instead of sitting around and reading, to go a bit Sightseeing. After all, I still had 4 hours left here, and I would sit in the train long enough anyway.<\/p>\n

The historic city centre was not far away from the main train station, so I was quickly right in it. It took quite a concentration, not to crash into any of the people, but while driving in the almost same speed, I had no problem.<\/p>\n

With the pedestrians it was almost the same as in Romez they hardly watched out and started walking into a random direction without looking, so I had to slam my brakes more than once, but the cars! When I was driving on the road, they seemed so gentle, so carful! I do noy know if the few were extra careful or if it just seemed like it because I was already used to the Italian’s driving style. <\/p>\n

And while driving around, I have got one Clich\u00e9 confirmed. In every  pub, in every more simple restaurant, if they were already opened, the people, who were sitting there had almost all a beer glass in from of them. At half past 10 in the morning. Like, literally almost all of them. Diese Bayern…<\/p>\n

Anyway, since I still had crackers left, I got some cheese from a market, where I had to suppress the impulse of saying “Grazie” in the end. Brain, we arrived already in Muinch, there is no need to still say Grazie!<\/p>\n

I then sat down in a very lovely park, where I saw flowers with such an intense colour, which I have not seen in a long time.<\/p>\n

They might not look that intense on the picture, but I was flashed. Again, maybe I am just used to the Italian brownish summer colours.<\/p>\n

Punctual I was standing at the station, but then I got another Clich\u00e9 confirmed; Die Deutsche Bahn is never punctual and always late, and most of the time nothing goes as planned. It was not too bad, only 15 minutes later, but the train stopped at another platform as well. Luckily they told us early enough, well, I mean, we had enough time anyway since the train was late.<\/p>\n

Almost every journey has an end, and so does mine. I’m sort of surprised that I actually managed to keep on updating this blog every day, that is the first time that I managed to be that constant. I hope, you enjoyed reading my entries, and I hope that I was able to give you many impressions of my journey. And for all the silent readers, I’m always happy to read comments, even if it is only a “cool day” or something like this \ud83d\ude1b<\/span><\/p>\n

Italy has been a beautiful country for driving through, even though a bit hot. But once I got used to it, it was not that bad anymore. It has also been nice not being alone and sharing this adventure with someone who is as crazy as I am. I mean, let’s be honest, you have to be crazy to do a bicycle tour through Italy during such a heat period.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have already a new idea for the next summer. I always wanted to visit Great Britain and see Scotland, maybe I’m going to drive around there next year. Or the BeNeLux Countries. At least I will not carry my rain clothes with me all for nothing there. <\/p>\n
