Accommodation: Ciak Hostel, Rome<\/p>\n
Distance: Naples – Rome<\/p>\n
Weather: warm with a short summer rain<\/p>\n
After breakfast and checking out, we had a last look at Naples on our way to the Central station, before we got on the train to Rome. I have to admit, even though we had no problems there, Naples still is kind of a hideous city, no offence intended. Anyway, we still had a nice time there.<\/p>\n
After about three hours on the train, we arrived in Rome, where we walked to the hostel. To our surprise, we did not have a room in the main building of the hostel, but in another building. Apparently, the double and single rooms are somewhere else, while the dorm rooms are at the main building, where I have stayed with a friend last summer during our bicycle tour.<\/p>\n
The woman at the reception also told us that we got upgraded to the double room with an own bathroom, but we did not have to pay more for it, which is actually quite nice. She even called us a taxi to bring us to the other building.<\/p>\n
When we arrived there, we were both amazed.<\/p>\n
There are three rooms all together, one single room and two doubles, of which one was ours. While the single room is empty, the other double is occupied by a couple, I think. At least we just said Hi to each other, before they vanished in their room. But since we share a kitchen, I guess we will see more of each other the next days.<\/p>\n

After we relaxed a bit, we got hungry again, so we started walking towards the center and to the Colosseum.<\/p>\n

As you can see, we had clouds, but it was surprisingly warm.<\/p>\n
What we also noticed was the great amount of military and police cars standing around. Also the area close to the Colosseum was closed, since there would be a Procession in the evening.<\/p>\n

They even had bag controls when you wanted to get closer to the place where the Procession would be.<\/p>\n
After we had Pizza again in a lovely restaurant, we headed back to our hostel again.<\/p>\n

We thought about joining the masses at the Procession, but eventually decided against it. We already planned to go to the Holy Mass on Easter Sunday, so we thought we did not need this one today as well.<\/p>\n
I don’t know why, but I really feel comfortable here in Rome. I like the city, and I love the Colosseum, I could walk around here for days and would not get tired of all of this. Luckily for us, we have enough days to do exactly that.<\/p>\n
