Travel Day: Hamburg – Copenhagen<\/p>\n
Weather: Rainy<\/p>\n
Now I can truly say, the clich\u00e9s about the Deutsche Bahn, they are really true. Like, for real.<\/p>\n
We planned to take a plan from Hamburg to L\u00fcbeck to Copenhagen at 09:28, and ended up having one at 10:43 going over Flensburg to Fredericia and then to Copenhagen. You’re wondering why? Well, let me tell you the story.<\/p>\n
So, we arrived at the main train station at around 08:50, but apparently we had to get a seat reservation for that train we wanted to take, which we did not know beforehand, since the Interrail page said, it would be optional. We then had to wait for the counter for 40 minutes, and we have planned already to take the later train at 11:28, only to get told that neither on the 09:28, nor on the second one were seats for reservation available anymore. But she told us, we should just go to the platform, maybe we were lucky and they would let us in. Or we could take another connection, going over Flensburg.<\/p>\n
It’s 09:35, and the only thing you can count on with the Deutsche Bahn is that it’s always late. So it was not a surprise that the 09:28 train was still standing at the platform, but some security people were already there to get some people without seat reservation out of the train, since it was already way to overloaded. So, no luck in this matter.<\/p>\n
Anyway, we then waited on another platform for the other train, which apparently was a Dutch one already, because it came early, and it left the train station exactly at 10:43, I looked at my watch, it was very punctual.<\/p>\n
But it did not help anyway, the train still arrived about 13 minutes late in Fredericia, which was why we missed the connection train there to Copenhagen. Luckily for us, the next one going to the city came about 20 minutes later. Well, luckily for us, but not for others. We talked to two other people, who went to Stockholm and who would now miss the next train in Copenhagen, just because of these few moments of being late here. I think, they said they should have arrived in Stockholm at 10pm, but will now be there approximately at 12 in the middle of the night. Poor souls.<\/p>\n
But, eventually we managed to get to Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

After taking the bus to Drag\u00f8r, which is a bit south of the city, we searched for the house we were supposed to sleep then. The host has gone out, but he told us where to find the entrance and everything. What he did not tell us, was what we would find in his home.<\/p>\n

Look. At. Her. 14 weeks old, as we would later learn. I love her already. And she was so cuddly!<\/p>\n

Did I already mention that I love her? No? But look at how cute she is!<\/p>\n
Alright, alright, I’m gonna stop talking about the cat… for now.<\/p>\n
As I said, the host was out, and we went out again, despite the rain, to catch some food from the supermarket, which is maybe 2 minutes away. We were allowed to use the kitchen, so we decided to cook dinner today. Which eventually ended up with Manuel cooking and me cuddling the cat. But to my defense, he has learned how to cook, and everyone who knows me also knows how I cook, so…<\/p>\n
At some point, the host came home, Hans, and it was clear from the beginning that he was very nice and open-minded, and that he loves having people around. We talked a bit with him, until it got late again.<\/p>\n
I don’t know why I’m so tired already, I mean, we hardly did anything except for waiting around and sitting in the train?<\/p>\n
It is still raining outside. I hope it will be better tomorrow. At some point we would like to go to the beach as well, which is maybe about 15 minutes away per foot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
