Captain’s Log: Saturday, 18 August 2018<\/p>\n

Accommodation: Airbnb in Trondheim<\/p>\n

Sightseeing Day: Trondheim and Festival<\/p>\n

Weather: Sun, rain and clouds<\/p>\n

Since we knew that this would be a long day, we decided to sleep in a bit and have a slow start into the day.<\/p>\n

On our walk through the city we passed a little caf\u00e9 close to the Old Bridge where we stayed for a cup of coffee and a Hot Chocolate. It just looked so sympathetic because they had a stuffed unicorn at the wall? And they had a cat as well. Well, the cat did not belong to the caf\u00e9, as we later found out, but to a guy, who was there as well, and who did not live far away. So the cat apparently decided that this was her caf\u00e9 now, and she just walked over and made herself comfortable there. After doing that a couple of times, the humans all got used to it. Did I already mention that I really love cats? No? Well, I really love cats.<\/p>\n

We then continued our walk through the city, which, like Copenhagen, had a wonderful houseside at the river.<\/p>\n

The Old Bridge was then not far away, so we decided to cross it, since we wanted to have a look at the Cathedral, which was supposed to be on the other side.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I have to admit, I did not really expect much from that cathedral, but once I saw it, I was buffed.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It was so huge and impressive and it just reminded me of Hogwarts, so that I instantly fell in love with it.<\/p>\n

We then walked around it and took pictures, like, from every ankle because it was so amazing to look at, no matter from which side, but the last side we got to see was the front view of it.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Look at this beauty. It was so rich of details, and it just looked so different from all the churches or domes I am used to, for example all of the churches in Rome. I really did not want to leave, but since we had only one day here in Trondheim, we needed to get going if we wanted to see more from the city.<\/p>\n

So we continued walking over another bridge, which should lead us to the university.<\/p>\n

By the way, on the left side you can see already the main stage of the Pstereo Festival, which had it last day today.<\/p>\n

The university was up on a hill, and apparently I forgot to take pictures with my phone from the outside, but since we also had a look around inside too, I got pictures from there.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, we walked back to our accommodation to get some rest for the evening. Manuel had a day’s ticket for today, since he was fan of one of the bands who were there, and I found a place to sit during our walk, where I could easily listen to the music as well.<\/p>\n

But first I got up to the Kristiansten castle again to take some pictures.<\/p>\n

It was even sunny then, but we could already see the rain clouds coming towards us.<\/p>\n

On the way back down to my spot, I found a bicycle lift.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It got up a very steep hill, and now I am thinking, where was that during all my tours? I could have needed that quite a lot. But I noticed during the day, there were really many people riding their bikes in the city, even when it was raining for short periods. And so many joggers! It almost motivated me to go for a run as well again. Almost.<\/p>\n

Anyway, equipped with a rain jacket and an umbrella I sat down at the river with view at the main stage.<\/p>\n

It did not rain the whole time, just for short periods every once in a while, so it was not too bad.<\/p>\n

I even knew one of the bands I listened to, Tom Odell.<\/p>\n

Around me there were a couple of other people who were listening to the music as well.<\/p>\n

I then basically just stayed there to take pictures from the river. Since the weather and the clouds changed so much, it did not stop to look amazing.<\/p>\n

The next one is my favourite.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The water just mirrored everything in such a beautiful way, it was amazing. I was even able to see some stars at some point.<\/p>\n

Once the festival was over, I met up with Manuel again to walk back to our accommodation, where we arrived at maybe 00:30 in the night. Our ship will be leaving at 10am, so hopefully we will be able to get up in the right time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
