Captain’s Log: Monday, 17 June 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Distance: Lyon (09:00) – Valence (17:30), 115km<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accommodation: Camping Le Soleil Fruit\u00e9<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weather: Sun and blue sky<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today’s note to myself: Stopping to save your energy for tomorrow is okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today was a really good day. Maybe the weather is trying to make up for the rainy days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway, after saying goodbye to my lovely hosts, I hit the road again. The first kilometres were not very nice, since I had to get out of the city, and the bicycle way was parallel to the highway, but at some point I finally made it to the Via Rh\u00f4na, a bicycle route alongside the river, obviously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From there on, the way was just perfect. Blue sky, sun, and the road going slightly down because I was following the river downstream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes the road led away from the river, through some plantages, I think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that was alright, because at some point it led back to the river again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also had a break at the river. Maybe you have noticed already, but I really like these ways at a river. So<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am just going to spam you with some more pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thought about just keep going, since the road was nice and the weather as well, but I knew, if I wanted to make a longer distance tomorrow as well, I should eventually rest at some point. So I found a camping ground, well, I tried to find it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google Maps led me over grass, where it insisted that there was a road, I just could not see it. However, after some detours I finally found the camping ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I was unpacking my tent, I noticed what I had forgotten to do in Port, while I was waiting for my bike. I forgot to unpack my tent for drying. It was still all wet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luckily, after putting it up and letting it stand in the sun for about 15 minutes, it was perfectly dry again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also enjoyed a nice pizza at the camping ground restaurant. After all, I will need the energy for tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
