Captain’s Log: Tuesday, 18 July
Distance: Udine – Aquileia, 47km
Since it is late already, I’m just going to post some images and not writing much.
The route looked quite similar to yesterday, even though we passed more sunflower fields, of which I unfortunately don’t have any pictures.
After Palmanova, which was a really nice old town with a complete wall around it, we had to pass the gate through Narnia… Just kidding, it has been only an old gate, but it looked so nice.
Breaks are also very important, especially if you’re hungry.
And since some might have wondered about losing the orientation because of the signs, try to find this sign on a town on a larger cross section.
Didn’t you find it?
Here it is. Sometimes it has only been this red arrow we had to follow, or similar sized signs.
In Aquileia we found a nice camping ground, where we are going to spend the next two nights, since we planned to do a day trip down to Grado tomorrow. We even went through the town, seeing the ruins and the Basilica, when we heard loud music being played somewhere. Curious, as we are, we decided to follw it to have a look at what made this music. Our speculations went from a home party to a bar to a “party” on a parking lot, but it has been actually a small outdoor bar with a dancing group. It has been a group of maybe 15 people, following the dancing moves of one teacher who stood in the front. I don’t know, it was so unexpected that it seemed more funny in this situation than it might actually is.

Na servas! Suchspiel an jeder Kreuzung? 😂
