XV. Sun, hills, and a lake

Captain’s Log: 29 July

Distance: Gardeletta – south-east of Lago di Bilancino, 56km

The title sums up today pretty well. We had to get through this hill area into the Toscana. Our goal was to reach the lake, since I wanted to go swimming there. But the way until there has been a long of pushing again. But I have to admit, if I had to choose this way from today or taking the main road straight through without pushing, I would still take this one from today. The landscape is so much better and even if I have to push the whole day, at some point it has to get down again, and I am able to train my body and mind while puhsing up. And with mind I mean the mental endurance.
At some point, already close to the lake, we kinda picked up another cyclist from Germany, and since he was on his way down to the lake as well, we started to travel together. It was just strange, before we met him, only Moritz had to wait for me, now two people had to wait for me, since I was always the slowest uphill. Slow but continually is my motto.

Eventually we made it to the lake, where we took a bath at a nice quiet spot. The water was not that cold or fresh as I wanted it to be, but not every lake can be as nice as the Freibacher Stausee (which I’m already looking forward to by the way).

The camping ground we looked up was not at the lake, but not far away, and after chilling at the lake, we made it there in the early evening. The evening continued being very calm and nice, we were eating pizza and talked a lot with the German Bicyclist, who we might be travelling with to Florence tomorrow as well.
And by the way, thank you very much for your comments, I really love reading them and appreciate it!! (:

Find’s sehr cool dass Moritz und du offenbar ganz gut miteinander radeln könnt und noch immer miteinander unterwegs seid!
Und es ist schön von euch beiden durch deinen Blog zu hören 🙂
