XI. Lazy day

Captain’s Log: Thursday, 13 June 2019

Distance: None

Accommodation: Lac Hôtel

Weather: Sunny

Today’s note to myself: I’ve got none today

Alright, so, about the last two days;

On Tuesday afternoon I got hit by a car. Well, actually I think that just my bike got hit by it. Since I’m obviously still able to write my blog, I’m fine, so you can stop worrying right away.

It was raining and the street was wet, and I was driving with like, 7km/h because it was uphill, and a driver on the other side of the street lost control over his car and sort of crashed in front of me into the wall on the right side and also into the front tire of my bike. I only got some bruises on my legs, so nothing bad, and the driver was okay as well, but my poor Connen-Neute had a very destroyed front tire.

Look at my poor bike 🙁

Anyway, because of this I am stuck in Port, between Geneva and Lyon, but luckily the village has a bike store where I was able to bring my bike for repair. The man there told me that it might be ready Friday afternoon again, so I am hopefully able to either drive already on Friday to Lyon, although I would probably need to drive until late at night then, or I am going to stay one more night here and get to Lyon on Saturday. I still haven’t decided that yet, even though I just booked three nights in the hotel I’m staying at at the moment.

By the way, after the accident I actually wanted to go to the camping ground, which I also did, but it was still raining, and I decided it just wasn’t worth it. At some point even I have to admit that I have to treat myself and that it is not necessary to camp in the rain after an accident.

Yesterday I had breakfast in the hotel and relaxed in the room, when the driver called me to meet up so that he could give me the money for the reparation for my bike. After meeting with him, I got something to eat and spend the rest of the day reading in my comfy bed. I thought, at least I can use the unexpected break for taking a good rest.

Today was not really different, except that I went to the lake for reading.

I even made a new friend there.

But at some point I got hungry and wanted to get back to my hotel room, but my key card, which already had problems working yesterday, did not work again. Since there was no one at the reception, I did what every sane person would do. I climbed into my room through the open window.

Stop worrying already, my room is on the ground floor, so I did not actually had to climb up somewhere, just through, but I was intelligent enough to put weight on one of my bruises which got a bit worse now, but it will heal eventually again.

    Ach Schatzi!
