Upcoming project

A friend and I are soon going to start a bicycle tour through Austria for about 6 weeks. The idea of it came up once I noticed that I knew other countries (for example New Zealand) better than my own homeland. To change that, I decided to travel through Austria. The bike is just, in my opinion, one of the best means of transport. It’s faster than walking, but you can get to many nice spots you wouldn’t reach with the car. Besides, it’s a totally different feeling if you’re travelling with a bike and a tent than with a car and hostels.

The route will go from Vienna over two stops to Linz. From there we are going to drive down the so called Roemerradweg till Attersee, from where we will change to the Salzkammergut-Radweg westward till Gmunden. Then we just follow this road clockwise till Salzburg. From there goes the Tauernradweg down till Krimml to the Krimmler Wasserfälle.

I’m not quite sure how we’ll come there then, but I want to go to Innsbruck and Bregenz afterwards. The rest of the journey isn’t planned yet. I have some ideas, but hardly any fixed routes yet. The only thing I know for sure already is, that we are going to travel westward at the Drauradweg.

Once the journey has started (in the beginning of July I guess), updates will come anyway.

I’m already looking forward to this. If there is anyone who wants to join us, you’re welcome!
