VI. Trains and Oslo

Captain’s Log: Wednesday, 15 August 2018

Accommodation: Airbnb/Hostel in Oslo

Travel Day: Copenhagen – Oslo

Weather: Cloudy with a bit of sun, again

We started again earlier today, since we both did not know exactly when the bus to the airport / train station left, and hoe long exactly the way would take. That was why we first ended up waiting, like, 20 minutes on the bus, and then again maybe 40, 50 minutes on the train, which was late again.

But I guess, we were used to waiting at this point already.

The ride to Göteborg was not very exciting. The land was very flat and brown, like it was completely dried out. Thinking back to what the weather was like around here the last couple of weeks it is not surprising at all to be honest.

After Göteborg, where we had to change the train (which was exactly on time for exchange), the country grew a bit more greener and we passed a few more lakes and woods. Unfortunately I did not think about taking pictures with my phone there, and I don’t have any more cat pictures, so.. No pictures today. But, on the bright side, I have learned from that, so from now on during the train rides to Trondheim and from Bergen to Oslo, I am going to take pictures of the country as well.

Arriving in a city like Oslo was kind of overwhelming. Copenhagen did not seem like a big city, but Oslo was more like a fast and hectic city with high houses, many cars and lots of people, and it was somehow stressful? I did not make a good first impression, but maybe it will be better tomorrow.

Finding the Airbnb was interesting as well since it worked more like a hostel. We needed to get the key from a sharebox close to the place, and the place itself has three rooms with stock beds in them. Because of that, more people are staying there, so we could talk a bit to other people as well.
