XLVII. And more ocean

Captain’s Log: Friday, 19 July 2019

Distance: Vigo (10:00) – Belinho (17:45), 90km

Accommodation: Parque de Campismo de Belinho

Weather: Sun and cool

Today’s note to myself:

The way was vedry nice today, especially the first 30km. I was driving alongside the street, but there was an extra line for bicyclists, and it was also alongside the ocean. Although it had a lot of ups and downs, it was still good to follow.

At the border to Portugal I planned to take a short ferry, only to find out that it did not work at the moment, once I arrived there. But I saw a small boat, apparently a watertaxi, just leaving the shore and driving towards the other one, leaving some people with backpacks back on this side.

I got told that he would eventually come back, so I sat and waited and used the time to eat and have a rest. At some point two other daytour cyclists came as well, of whom one had the phone number of the driver of the watertaxi, so she called him, and he came. Luckily, all of our three bikes fit in his small boat.

And now I can officially say, I did not need my passport at any of the borders I crossed.

The rest of the way today was again along the main road, but unfortunately not that close at the sea.

After arriving at the camping ground I noticed that apparently Portugal has a different time zone than Spain? I did not really think about that.
